From July 20 to 26, teachers and students of the School of Politics and International Relations of Lanzhou University, at the invitation of the Silk Road Innovation and Development Institute of Uzbekistan, organized a special training camp of "Meeting the Silk Road" to carry out field visits and exchanges in Uzbekistan. During the visit, the teachers and students of the training camp visited the Confucius Institute of Uzbekistan National Oriental University and the Silk Road Tourism University of Uzbekistan successively, and had in-depth exchanges with local teachers and students, and successfully completed various tasks.
At the Confucius Institute at Uzbekistan National Oriental University, the teachers and students of the training camp had a full exchange with the Chinese president Gao Hongzhen on the specific running of the Confucius Institute in Uzbekistan and the research on Uzbekistan carried out by the Institute of Government. President Gao is very concerned about the development of the Uzbek Research Center of the University, and proposed that under the framework of the Uzbek Research Center, it is proposed to determine annual issues, hold China-Uzbekistan youth academic forum, carry out international curriculum week activities, and invite Uzbek experts and scholars to visit the university and arrange high-quality lectures and courses. Dr. Liang Zhenpeng, deputy director of the Uzbekistan Research Center of the School, expressed his desire to promote academic exchanges and cooperation between the two sides, and invited President Gao to attend the academic conference in the future. In addition, the teachers and students of the training camp also had an exchange with Han Yanxiong, a doctoral student of our Institute who teaches in the Confucius Institute, and Han Yanxiong shared his experience as a volunteer with the students. Finally, the teachers and students of the Institute visited the Confucius Institute and learned about the HSK Chinese Proficiency test and the situation of folk Chinese learning in Uzbekistan.
At the Silk Road Tourism University of Uzbekistan, Minister Oubit of the school came to receive teachers and students of the training camp and carry out discussions and exchanges. Minister Obit first led the teachers and students of the College to visit the national costume exhibition with different characteristics in different regions of Uzbekistan, the corridor of Uzbekistan's famous oil painting exhibition, the practice classroom of hotel management students and the library of the first China Book Center in Central Asia. After that, Minister Obit and Dr. Liang Zhenpeng of our Institute introduced the general situation of the two institutions, and reached a preliminary intention to establish long-term contacts between the two sides, carry out common research and build a cooperation platform. Counselor Tian Ge teacher to the college of undergraduate talent training made an introduction. Zhang Weiheng, a 2021 undergraduate majoring in international politics, shared what he saw and heard during his visit as a student representative.
In order to better understand the history, culture and society of Uzbekistan, the teachers and students of the training camp also visited Tashkent Mustakilik Independence Square, Timur Square, Tashkent TV Tower and Samarkand Registan Academy. In addition, first-hand information was fully collected on the "Belt and Road" cultural exchanges and mutual learning, the cooperation and development of cultural resources along the Silk Road, and the integration of urban cultural tourism and telling good "Belt and Road" stories. By carrying out international academic exchange activities for Central Asian countries, the internationalization level of talents training of our college has been improved, and a good foundation has been laid for promoting academic exchanges and cooperation between our college and universities in Central Asian countries in the future.
