On May 28, 2024, the Academic dissertation defense for the Spring Semester of 2024 was held. The thesis defense was held in Xinglin Building A404, A504 and A704 of Chengguan Campus in three groups simultaneously, taking a combination of online and offline. A total of 2 doctoral students and 29 master students were allowed to participate in the defense. Some of the non-graduate students from the grade of 2021, 2022 and 2023 of our college attended the defense meeting.

Two doctoral students from A504 defense field of Xinglin building participated in the defense. Professor Yingjiabu of the Department of Chinese Language and Literature of Northwest University for Nationalities served as the chairman of the Defense committee, Professors Hadejiang, Wang Jianxin, Chen Xiaoding and Zhou Ming served as the members of the defense committee, and Ms. Zhang Yini served as the secretary of the defense committee.

A total of 14 postgraduate students participated in the defense at A404 Defense court of Xinglinlou. Professor Zuo Hongzhu from the School of Marxism of Northwest Normal University served as the chairman of the defense committee, Professor Jiao Yiqiang from the School of Politics and International Relations of Lanzhou University, Associate Professor Zhou Changxian, Associate Professor Yang Chenbo, Associate Professor Wang Jin from the Center for Belt and Road Studies of Lanzhou University served as the members of the defense committee. Mr. Tian Ge served as defense secretary.

A total of 15 master's students (1 international student) participated in the A704 defense. Professor Cao Yabin of the School of Marxism of Northwest Normal University served as the chairman of the defense committee, Chen Yazhou Young Researcher, Associate Professor Wei Jinshen, Associate Professor Ma Guolin and Associate Professor Zhang Yuyan served as the members of the defense committee of the defense field, and Dr. Mao Jianping served as the defense secretary of the defense field.

During the oral defense, the graduate students briefly elaborated on the research origin, significance and innovation of the dissertation, research methods, framework structure and conclusions. The defense teachers fully affirmed the quality and training level of the graduate students' dissertations, and gave in-depth and detailed comments and guidance on the relevance of the dissertations, the breadth and depth of the research, the conclusions and significance of the research, and gave specific suggestions for improvement. In response to the questions raised by the defense teachers, the students carefully responded and recorded, and conducted in-depth reflection and discussion on their own research.

The postgraduate dissertation defense meeting is a test of the quality of doctoral and master's degree training in our school, and finally by the decision of the defense committee, all the students participating in the defense successfully passed the defense, and asked the students participating in the defense to uphold the sense of responsibility to themselves, to the supervisor and the entire discipline, with a rigorous and meticulous attitude, to further revise and polish the graduation thesis. At the same time, the teachers also extended their most sincere congratulations to the students who successfully passed the defense, and wished them continued to forge ahead and achieve better results in their future academic and life paths.
