Faculty and students of the School of Politics and International Relations were invited to participate in the 5th "Dual-North Forum" and "International Relations Research Under Great Changes" academic seminar

On May 25, 2024, the fifth "Dual-North Forum" and "Research on International Relations under Great Changes" academic seminar was held in Jilin University. Invited by the meeting, Zhu Yongbiao, dean of the School of Politics and International Relations, and more than 10 teachers and students attended the meeting.

The conference was co-sponsored by the School of Administration of Jilin University and the School of Politics and International Relations of Lanzhou University. More than 50 experts and scholars from the organizer and Jilin Academy of Social Sciences, Liaoning University, Renmin University of China, University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Yunnan University, Shandong University, University of International Business and Economics, Center for Contemporary World Studies of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, Fudan University, Tsinghua University, Yanbian University, Nankai University, Sun Yat-sen University and other units attended the conference. The conference focused on the frontiers of international relations theory, global governance, regional and country-specific studies, the situation in Eurasia, and the protection of overseas interests. At the opening ceremony, Zhu Yongbiao delivered a speech on behalf of the college, expressing his gratitude to the School of Administration of Jilin University for its preparatory work. He pointed out that the "Double North Forum" has now achieved a certain influence in the academic community, attracting well-known scholars from all over the country to attend the forum, which was held offline in Changchun, providing an important platform for scholars to express their opinions. He wished the conference a complete success and invited guests to come to Orchid next year to continue to support the sixth "Bilateral Forum". The conference has seven sub-forums. Teachers Zeng Xianghong, Zhu Yongbiao, Chen Yiyi were invited to serve as the moderator of the sub-forum. Faculty members Zhu Yongbiao, Cao Wei, Gao Wani, Wei Jinshen, Chen Yiyi and Sun Xiuwen respectively discussed "The impact of Pan-artificial Intelligence on International Relations", "Comparative study on Tibet-related Bills and Xinjiang-related Bills of the US Congress", "Diplomatic response and policy adjustment of Central Asian countries under the Russia-Ukraine conflict", "Inclusive competition" : "Analysis on the impact of the Russia-Ukraine Conflict on the operation of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization" "Cognitive schema of the five Central Asian countries' national image of Russia after the Russia-Ukraine Conflict" in the academic report, master students Chen Hu, Du Jiaming, Song Jian respectively "From passive response to positive: Central Asian countries' Pluralism and balanced diplomatic behavior New turn" "spread like this: The proliferation of the 'C5+1' mechanism in Central Asia "" The Construction of the EU-Central Asia Partnership" was an academic report.

The "Double North Forum" is an academic forum co-sponsored by the School of Administration of Jilin University and the School of Politics and International Relations of Lanzhou University. Since the first one was held in 2020, Lanzhou University and Jilin University have held four sessions in turn. The forum not only established an academic exchange mechanism for experts and scholars from different universities and different research fields, but also set up a special forum for research students to build an exchange and learning platform for young students of the two universities.
