At 15pm on September 15, the College of Politics and International Relations held a welcome meeting for 2023 graduate students in Qinling Hall B416, Yuzhong Campus. The theme of this conference is "Seize the day, live up to your time". Mr. Chang Hong, Secretary of the Party Committee, Professor Chen Xiaoding, Vice President, Associate Professor Zhou Changxian, Class 2023 freshman class teacher, Professor Zhou Ming, Associate Professor Li Yibin, Associate Professor Cao Wei, Associate Professor Xiao Han, Dr. Luo Yixuan, Dr. Mi Pengju, Dr. Zhang Weiwei, graduate counselor Lei Huanrui and all the class 2023 freshmen attended the meeting. The conference was presided over by Mr. Jia Haiyan, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the College.

At the beginning of the meeting, Deputy Secretary Jia Haiyan led everyone to sing the national anthem. After the National singing, Secretary Chang Hong, on behalf of the School Party Committee, read out the appointment notice of Class 2023 head teacher and deputy Head teacher, appointed Dr. Li Ze as Class 2023 Head teacher of Class 1 Political Science and Dr. Liu Qian as Class Director of Class 2 Political Science. Appointed Yang Ting as the deputy head teacher of Class 1, Political Science Class 2023, Li Weijie as the deputy head teacher of Class 2, Political Science Class 2023, and Associate Professor Zhou Changxian as the head teacher of graduate class 2023.

Then, on behalf of Zhang Junsu, a master's student and national scholarship winner of the class of 2021, the student made a speech with the theme of "Maintaining a good attitude and doing four things in the postgraduate stage". He called on students to establish a correct concept of time, clear learning goals, adhere to the bottom line of academic ethics, maintain a good attitude, and reminded them to get along with their roommates.

Then, the freshman representative Jia Yonggang combined his volunteer teaching and work experience to tell the students about the importance of going to the place where the motherland needs the most and maintaining the spirit of hard work. He stressed that Yuzhong Campus is a "treasure" for learning and scientific research, and hoped that students maintain a healthy and positive attitude. Afterwards, Li Dongning, the freshman representative, shared his reasons for choosing Lanzhou University and how he spent the three meaningful years as a graduate student, and sent his wishes to the students.

Then, Professor Zhou Changxian, on behalf of the tutor, delivered a speech. First of all, Ms. Zhou welcomed and congratulated the students and hoped that they could adapt to the new environment and meet the new challenges. Secondly, Mr. Zhou introduced the talent training concept of the college. Then, taking the community of common destiny as the starting point, he called on everyone to unite, work hard and assume the responsibility of The Times, and welcomed the international students of the National Institute of Government.

After Ms. Zhou's speech, the class committee of all 2023 graduate students came on stage to introduce themselves and make a statement to all 2023 graduate students. After the speech, the class committee of 2023 sent the pomegranate, a symbol of unity, to the students, hoping that everyone can unite as one and grow together in the graduate stage.

Professor Chen Xiaoding, Vice President of the College, then delivered a speech. Professor Chen used pomegranate as a metaphor to tell us about the unity and growth of the College since its establishment. He stressed that just as pomegranate seeds are closely bonded and grow together, everyone is an integral part of the college family. Through mutual support and cooperation, we have achieved the glory of the college together. Professor Chen has full confidence in the teachers and students of the college. He encouraged the new students to learn from their teachers and classmates and give full play to their potential. At the same time, Professor Chen also expressed his deep wishes and expectations to the freshmen. He hopes that the new students can establish lofty aspirations, integrate the fine tradition of the college and the spirit of LAN University into their own study and life, and constantly improve themselves. Professor Chen especially stressed the importance of determination, he encouraged the new students to have ambition, aspire to be high, to turn the advantages of LAN University, teachers and students into their own advantages, go out of the new height, practice the unity of knowledge and action.

Finally, Mr. Jia Haiyan, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the College, made a summary and led all the teachers and students to sing the school song of Lanzhou University. The activity ended successfully in the big group photo, leaving a good memory for everyone.
