Invited by the School of Politics and International Relations of Lanzhou University, Zhou Li, former Chinese Ambassador to Kazakhstan, former Vice Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, held academic lectures in our School on September 17th and 18th, 2019. The topics of the lecture were "Negotiation Process and Significance of the Signing of Good-Neighborly Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between China and Russia" and “Current International Situation and Trend”.
During lectures, Ambassador Zhou Li pointed out that 2019 is a historic milestone of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Russia, and then he presented the international situation and the changes in China and Russia in the last 70 years, the treaties signed between China and the Soviet Union, the historical background and negotiation process of the treaties signed in detail. He mentioned that the most important issues in the signing of the treaties were Taiwan issue and border issue. In addition, he shared his years of experience as a diplomat with the students.
The lectures came to a successful conclusion with warm applause. Ambassador Zhou Li not only helped students broaden their vision and enrich their knowledge, but also stimulated their sense of mission and responsibility to identify their direction of university life.
