On the morning of July 15, 2021, at the invitation of the School of Politics and International Relations of Lanzhou University and the Institute for Central Asian Studies, Professor Ma Xiaolin, from Zhejiang University International Studies University, gave an academic lecture entitled “Arab Islamic Civilization and the World” to our teachers and students. The lecture was presided over by Professor Chen Xiaoding, Deputy Dean of our school, and attended by Professor Wang Sihai, Associate Professor Li Yibin and more than 40 students.

At the beginning of the lecture, Professor Ma Xiaolin talked about the development process and influence of Islamic civilization. Then he proposed to study regional issues from a grand perspective and consider country issues from deeper and broader perspectives. Finally, Professor Ma answered the questions raised by the students and stressed that students should pay attention to tamping the basic skills in academic research.
