On July 18, 2020, the "Lanzhou University Forum" of online academic symposium on "Covid-19 and International Relations" was successfully held.The conference was hosted by the School of Politics and International Relations of Lanzhou University, the Institute for Central Asian Studies of Lanzhou University, and cosponsored by University of International Business and Economics.

At present, the Covid-19 continues to spread throughout the world, which not only caused a serious impact on international pattern, but also posed many new challenges to the regional country studies. In this context, we urgently need to explore its impact on regional country studies, the issues emerged within this process, and how it has changed the regional development momentum of many regions in the world. At the same time, it is also necessary for us to reflect on the progress and problems of regional country studies in China. Therefore, the theme of the meeting is "Covid-19 and Regional Country Study".

The meeting was divided into the following four parts: the first one was "the impact of the Covid-19 on regional country studies"; the second was "the relationship between the Covid-19 and regional security and regional cooperation"; the third was "regional country studies and China's diplomacy under the context of Covid-19"; and fourth was "promoting the path of theoretical and methodological innovation in regional country studies". Experts and scholars from five universities participated in the meeting and exchanged ideas at the meeting. At the same time, more than 120 teachers and students attended the meeting online through Tencent conference.
