Introduction: ZHANG Zhenjiangis Professor of International Relations and Dean of the School of International Studies/Academy of Overseas Chinese Studies as well as Institute for 21^st-Century Silk Road at Jinan University. He is also the Editor-in-Chief of theJournal of Southeast Asian Studies.In 2013, the Ministry of Education selected him for the “Program for New Century Excellent Talents.” He is a member of the National Guidance Committee on Teaching Political Science in Colleges and Universities, which falls under the Ministry of Education. He serves as the Vice Chairman for three organizations (China Southeast Asian Studies Association, China Association for the Overseas Chinese History Studies, and Guangzhou Association for Political Science Studies), academic advisor on the Chinese in Africa/Africans in China (CA/AC) Research Network’s global advisory board,and advisor on overseas Chinese affairs to the Guangzhou People's Political Consultative Conference.
