[Abstract]Since the independence of the Central Asian countries, the call for breaking the geographical boundaries and integration of economic, trade, energy and transportation between Central and South Asia has been rising. After major regional changes such as the "Color Revolution" in Central Asia and the Afghanistan War, various cooperation mechanisms and projects have continued to advance and are still in the ascendant. This paper analyzes the concept of Connectivity of Central and South Asia in the historical and contemporary context, and then demonstrates the ideas and new practice of China, the United States and Russia and various international organizations when promoting the Connectivity between these two areas. The main part of this paper analyzes the progress and challenges of the four South Asian countries, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iran, when cooperating with five Central Asian countries on strategic, trade and major connectivity projects. Based on this, some ideas of China's participation in economic and trade cooperation and interconnection between Central and South Asia in the context of the "Belt and Road" are put forward.
