On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the "Belt and Road Initiative", the School of Politics and International Relations continued to deepen international exchanges and cooperation, and actively promoted the exchange of visits and cooperation with relevant institutions and universities in Central Asia. Dr. Wang Shusen and Ms. Zheng Lili from the School of Foreign Languages visited Kazakhstan from December 10 to 16. The delegation was invited to visit Ali Farabi Kazakh State University, Consulate General of China in Almaty, China Petroleum International (Kazakhstan) Co., LTD., KIMEP University and Abrahan University of International Relations and World Languages.
On the afternoon of December 11, the delegation was invited to the Department of International Relations of Ali Farabi Kazakh National University and the Confucius Institute jointly built with the university for in-depth exchanges. The two sides discussed in detail their respective development needs, cooperation in language learning, and future visits and exchanges between teachers and students. Both sides expressed their willingness to cooperate closely in the fields of education, teaching and academic research.
On the morning of December 12, the delegation visited the Chinese Consulate General in Almaty and held talks with Vice Consul General Zhong Hua. The delegation had in-depth exchanges with Vice Consul General Zhong Hua and relevant personnel on the current situation of China-Kazakhstan relations, Kazakhstan's domestic economic and social development, and China-Kazakhstan educational, cultural and economic cooperation.
On the morning of December 13, the delegation was invited to visit petrochina International Undertakings (Kazakhstan) Co., LTD. The delegation conducted in-depth discussions with the company secretary, Executive deputy General manager Wang Lei and relevant personnel on energy security, graduate job hunting, student internship and other matters, and actively implemented the "visiting enterprises to expand their posts".
On the afternoon of 13 December, the delegation was invited to visit KIMEP University in Almaty. The two sides held in-depth discussions on issues such as co-hosting summer schools and establishing Lanzhou University field investigation site in Kazakhstan, and expressed their urgent willingness to strengthen contacts in the future.
On the afternoon of December 14, the delegation was invited to visit Abrahan University of International Relations and World Languages, and the heads of the Department of International Exchanges, the Department of International Relations and the Department of Oriental Studies participated in the discussion. During the discussion, the two sides had in-depth and detailed exchanges on academic cooperation among teachers, exchange and language learning among students, and the feasibility of establishing overseas China research centers. Both sides expressed their strong willingness to maintain a high level of cooperation.
Kazakhstan is an important country in Central Asia. During this visit to Kazakhstan, the delegation, starting from the development needs of the College and the Institute, started from three important aspects: academic cooperation, government and enterprise services and exchanges between teachers and students, and actively expanded the channels of exchange and cooperation, which was conducive to improving the scientific research strength and international educational standards of the College and the Institute, and better serving the major strategic needs of the country.
