The Fourth International Symposium on “Counter-Terrorism, De-Radicalization and Human Rights Protection“, co-organized by the China Society for Human Rights Studies and the Information Office of Guangdong Provincial People's Government and hosted by Jinan University, was held in Guangzhou on October 13.

Dr. Li Liang presented "SCO's Efforts to Address "Double Standards" in Counter-Terrorism Cooperation", suggesting that most SCO member states are victims of both terrorism and the politicization and weaponization of counter-terrorism issues, and therefore must work together under the SCO framework to address them. With the inclusion of Iran, the value of SCO in strengthening the foundation of counter-terrorism cooperation and opposing "double standards" in counter-terrorism and interference by extraterritorial forces in their internal affairs will be further highlighted.

Dr. Jin Xiaozhe's speech was entitled "The Logical Deconstruction of U.S. Human Rights Discourse on XinJiang and Responses". He believed that U.S. human rights discourse on XinJiang is a manifestation of power politics and hegemony, and its generation and dissemination are deeply rooted in the extreme obsession with "Western democracy" and a contemporary manifestation of the cognitive bias of American Orientalism.China should take the initiative to expose the illusory and illusory nature of the U.S. human rights discourse related to the border. At the same time, China needs to strengthen the construction of international think tanks and media power in order to reduce the uncertainty of the international community's knowledge about Xinjiang.
