On October 15, 2018, Lanzhou University and Armenian Yerevan State University officially signed an agreement on academic exchanges and cooperation under the liaison and promotion of the School of Politics and International Relations. The agreement aims to promote educational and academic exchange of staff and students between the two universities，and to enhance each other’s image concerning research and development.

This agreement is the first one signed with countries along the "Belt and Road" since the establishment of the School of Politics and International Relations. The signing of the agreement lays a legal foundation for the future exchanges and cooperation between the two universities, with a view to establishing a long-term cooperation mechanism and further expanding exchanges and cooperation.

Background: Founded on May 16, 1919, Armenian Yerevan State Universityis the largest and most prestigious university in the country. The university has 400 researchers, 1,350 post-graduate students, and 8,500 undergraduates, including 300 students from abroad.
