The two-day Annual meeting of the Academic Community of Political Science and International Relations 2024 was held at the Liaoning Building in Beijing from July 8 to 9. The annual conference attracted more than 100 scholars from Tsinghua University, Peking University, Renmin University of China, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Fudan University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Lanzhou University and other universities and research institutions at home and abroad. Experts and scholars held heated discussions on various topics, including global governance in the context of artificial intelligence, regional security, international economic relations, and strategic interactions among emerging powers.
One of the highlights of the annual conference was a panel discussion on mixed approaches to international conflict and social science. Chen Yi, associate professor of our college, participated in the discussion with colleagues at home and abroad. The participants agreed that hybrid research methods have important application prospects in understanding and analyzing the complexity of international conflicts, and can effectively integrate quantitative and qualitative data to provide more comprehensive and in-depth insights.
