The Third “Cui Ying” Cup: Forum on Eurasian Studies for Graduates Students was Successfully Held

On October 29, the third "Cui Ying Cup": the online forum on Eurasian studies for graduates students was successfully held, which was sponsored by the School of Politics and International Relations of Lanzhou University and the Institute for Central Asian Studies of Lanzhou University, and hosted by the editorial department of Central Asian Studies. More than 50 doctoral and postgraduate students from more than 20 universities and research institutions, including Lanzhou University, Lomonosov Moscow State University, University of Macau, China Foreign Affairs University, University of Chinese Academy of School Sciences, Nanjing University, Jilin University and Central China Normal University participated in the online academic conference.

At the beginning, Professor Chen Xiaoding, Vice Dean of the School of Politics and International Relations of Lanzhou University and Director of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Research Center of Lanzhou University, delivered a speech. After that, Mr. Wei Jinsheng, a member of the forum secretariat, made a brief introduction of this forum.

After the opening, discussion part was followed. There are into two sub-forums: "Russia-Ukraine Conflict and Eurasian Order" and "Central Asian Studies and International Relations". The sub-forum on "Russia-Ukraine Conflict and Eurasian Order" was chaired by Mr. Li Yibin, and 13 students made presentations. Our school teachers, Li Yibin, Sun Xiowen and Chen Yiyi, made comments on the articles of the presenter.

The sub-forum on "Central Asian Studies and International Relations" was moderated by Mr. Jin Xiaozhe. Our school teachers, Ms. Gao Wanni, Mr. Jin Xiaozhe and Mr. Wei Jinsheng, made comments.

The forum fell in with Mr Zeng Xianghong's closing speech. Mr. Zeng, Professor of the Institute of Central Asian Studies at Lanzhou University and Vice Dean of the School of Politics and International Relations of Lanzhou University, expressed his gratitude to the students who participated.

Since 2020, the Lanzhou University "Cui Ying Cup" Eurasian Studies Forum for Postgraduate has been held annually. The forum is intended to promote academic exchanges among postgraduate students studied Eurasian area, encourage young people to engage in Eurasian studies, and develop more people for Eurasian studies in China. The fourth "Cui Ying Cup" Eurasian Graduate Student Forum is expected to be held in 2023.
