On July 6, in order to implement the university's requirement of focusing on and improving the quality of undergraduate teaching, a collective preparation meeting for the general education course "History, Culture and Social Transformation of Eurasian Countries" for all undergraduate students of Lanzhou University was held in the Student Activity Center.

The meeting was attended by Wang Jinguo, Dean of the School of Political and International Relations, Wang Sihai, Guo Qiong, Zhang Yuyan, Liang Zhengpeng, and Jiao Yiqiang.

During the preparation session, it was agreed that the former Soviet countries on the Eurasian continent had similar social systems and shared a common history with China. After the collapse of the Soviet Union and the end of the Cold War, the countries of the former Soviet East embarked on capitalist development. After more than 30 years of transition and development, Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia have experienced uneven and vastly different levels of development, with some countries still in economic difficulties and even political instability. China, on the other hand, has always adhered to the socialist system, and its reform and opening up has been steady and far-reaching, resulting in remarkable achievements worldwide. Through this course, students will be able to enhance their awareness of the "four self-confidences" in a comparative perspective, which is of great importance to cultivate their patriotism.
