On April 21, a meeting of the Council of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Research Centre and the Seminar on the Regional Situation of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization were held in Beijing.
The meeting announced the composition of the new council of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Research Centre, with three of our professors being selected. Among them, Professor Yang Shu is the honorary council member, Professor Wang Jinguo is the executive council member and Professor Zeng Xianghong is the council member.
Researchers at the School of Politics and International Relations of Lanzhou University have long been committed to the study of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) and related issues, which has resulted in the publication of many research results, the submission of a number of decision-making consultancy reports to relevant departments, and the training of a number of specialists working on SCO and related issues. In March 2020, the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Research Centre of Lanzhou University was established. The election of three professors to the new council of the SCO Research Centre is both a full recognition of our SCO research work and an expectation for us to make more contributions in our future work.
It is reported that the SCO Research Centre was established in 2006 with the approval of the State Council and has since become an important think tank bringing together top experts in China.
