In order to enhance the teaching ability of young teachers in the curriculum and help the smooth running of our curriculum teaching competition. The Department of Political Science and the Department of International Politics held a teaching workshop series of teaching experience sharing session on 14 December 2021. This sharing session invited Mr. Chen Yiyi to share his teaching experience of the course Civics for our young teachers.
The meeting was hosted by Xiao Han, Head of the Department of Political Science. Mr. Chen Yiyi shared his experience through three main aspects: firstly, the concept of Course Civics and Civics courses; secondly, how should one prepare for Course Civics; and thirdly, his thoughts and insights from participating in the College and School Course Civics Competition last year.
In response to Mr. Chen Yiyi's sharing, the participating teachers raised their confusion from various aspects, including: 1) what is the main topic of the Course Civics? 2)what is the process of the Course Civics Competition? 3) how to overcome the psychological difference between the competition site and the usual lecture? 4) how to design their own Course Civics content? 5) how to improve the quality of the PPT? 6) how to grasp the pace of the competition site?
Mr Chen Yiyi answered each of these questions, and the teachers also had a lively discussion on these issues. Finally, Li Yibin, Head of the Department of International Politics, summarised the sharing session and asked the teachers for suggestions on future teaching activities.
