International Symposium on “China and the World in the New Erawas successfully held in Beijing on December 17^th. More than 500 experts and scholars from well-known domestic think tanks, social elites and media circles attended the symposium. Professor Zeng Xianghong of our school was invited to attend and gave a speech entitledthe Development and Experience of the Construction of Think Tank of Institute for Central Asian Studies of Lanzhou University.

With the background of China and the world in the new era and evaluating the achievements of the construction of think tank in China in the last 7 years, scholars shared theoretical cognition and practical experience in terms of operation, responsibility, mechanism reformation, and internationalization of think tanks. In-depth discussion was conducted around the participating experts with topics such as Think-tank Responsibility in the Game of China and the U.S.,International Discourse of Chinese think-tank in the New Era,the Mechanism Reform and Internationalization of Think tank under Big Change, etc.

It is reported that the symposium was organized bythe Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies at Renmin University of China, and jointly organized by Think tank Research and Release Center of Guangming Daily, Institute of Contemporary China and the World of China Foreign Languages Publishing Administration, China.org.cn and the magazine Think Tank: Theory & Practice.
