In order to understand and help students solve their problems in study as well as to establish correct life goals and clear directions, the School of Politics and International Relations of Lanzhou University held the third and fourth sessions of "Learning at Lanzhou University - Navigating Growth" at 16:00 on November 12 and 13 in Room A305 of the second teaching building. Professor Zeng Xianghong answered the questions of the students about their studies in these two activities.

In the third activity, Meng Xiangyi and Wang Haoyue, discussed with Professor Zeng Xianghong on topics such as graduate school and life goals.

Professor Zeng encouraged the students to work hard to achieve their goals. He said, "Young people should have ideals and expectations for the future, and they should not have a nihilistic attitude. Your own efforts plus outside opportunities will bring you further to success". Professor Zeng said that opportunities are always left to those who are prepared. In terms of graduate school entrance exams, millions of students across the country take the exam, and only if you pay more than others can you reap considerable results. At the same time, Professor Zeng reminded students that the choice of graduate schools should not only look at the strength of the school, but also pay attention to, the quality of mentors. The mentor's approach to people and attitude towards doing research has a great impact on the growth of students. In other words, a good mentor can benefit students for life.

This was followed by a question-and-answer session. Professor Zeng answered the questions raised by the students one by one. When talking about "How to make your research have practical value as a scholar", Professor Zeng replied, "Each scholar has different criteria for judging the practical value of their research and different expectations for themselves, the key is what you pursue."

At the end of the event, Professor Zeng concluded, "Everyone plays different roles in life. My identity in school is a teacher, so I try my best to do what a teacher should do. My happiest moment is in class. Whenever I see the eyes of my students when I lecture, I feel that I am worthy. I hope to spread positive energy for my students, and I hope my students grow up and become successful and can go on to achieve their aspirations in life."

In the fourth session, our students He Shuwen and Han Yaning from Class of 2020 communicated with Professor Zeng Xianghong about their study methods for their major courses.First, Professor Zeng asked the students about their recent study and life status, their feelings about learning a new major, and their communication with their class teachers.Secondly, the students asked questions about their research topics, and Professor Zeng gave specific answers according to the topics.

Professor Zeng said that students should cultivate and continuously improve their appreciation ability. On the basis of familiarizing themselves with their abilities, they should understand the books they are interested in, choose the books that suit them, and then make a choice between intensive reading and general reading. At the end of the activity, Professor Zeng suggested that students should carry out valuable research, grab an issue they are interested in and go deeper, do a fine job and keep learning and exploring. At this point, the activity of "Learning at Lanzhouuniversity- Navigating Growing" ended successfully.
