On June 5, 2021, sponsored by the Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, jointly organized by Northwest University and Xi'an International Studies University, and jointly undertaken byJournal of World Peoples Studies and the Institute of Middle East Studies of Northwest University, the Forum of World Ethnic Studies for Young and Middle-aged Scholars was opened at Northwest University.

Nearly 60 young and middle-aged experts and scholars attended the forum. They are from universities and research institutions, including the China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations,Chinese Academy of Social Sciences,Beijing Foreign Studies University, China People's Liberation Army National Defence University, Lanzhou University, Zhengzhou University, Henan University, Southwest University, Sichuan University and so on.

Li Yibin, associate professor of our school, participated in the discussion of the second group. Mr. Li paid attention to the reality of Muslim immigration in Europe and "civilization conflict" in the post crisis era. He believed that the fear caused by the growth of Muslim population and the identity crisis of Muslim immigrants for themselves both evolved into "Islamophobia", which cause the superposition of "anti immigration"- the extreme right-wing forces and "Jihad" terrorist attacks. Thus, a reality of "Clash of Civilizations" has formed in Europe.
