At the invitation of School of Politics and International Relations of Lanzhou University and The Institute for Central Asian Studies of Lanzhou University, Professor Xiong Yihan, Deputy Deanof School of International Relations and Public Affairs of Fudan University, gave an academic lecture on "How to Make Academic Research Properly: Topic Selection Strategies and Rriting Skills" for teachers and students on April 15. More than 440 teachers and students attended the lecture through online conference.

According to the theme of " How to Make Academic Research Properly ", Professor Xiong Yihan took the problem consciousness of classical research as an example, and combined his own research experience, discussed how to propose a good topic with both theoretical value and practical significance. He also explained what role imagination, inspiration and research methods plays in academic research, and whether writing is an output of research or a part of research process. In the process of writing, how to make the research more "sexy" and so on. Professor Xiong Yihan mainly started from five aspects: choosing research fields and issues, how to put forward a good research question, dual mission of Chinese social science, cultivating imagination and writing.

After the meeting, Professor Xiong Yihan answered the questions raised by the students one by one, and the meeting ended successfully.
